Giada

The first thing you need to know is that the Giada software is meant to be used by someone who is a DJ, a live performer, or a musician. The second thing you need to know is that Giada is a hardcore loop machine that has a minimal interface, interface that allows you to add samples and/or MIDI events. And the third thing you need to know about the Giada software is that it is offered for the great price of free.

Giada is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Giada does not have to be installed. That’s right, this application is portable.

Giada has a dark-themed interface that is incredibly easy to figure out. It took me but a couple of minutes to figure everything out and I’m sure it won’t take anyone else a lot of time to get accustomed to Giada’s interface. Everything is so simple that even a novice computer user will quickly get the hang of things.

Switching focus from the visual and onto the functional, here’s a quick list of features: add sample channel; add MIDI channel; load new sample; edit MIDI actions; set up keyboard input; set up MIDI input; add and manage plugins; pick the output device; pick the output channels; different playback modes; built-in wave editor; and more.
